Install Weather on Android

This installs MD Weather as its own app. The home-screen icon opens the weather portal. After you sign in and allow notifications, Android alerts you for Mal weather alerts and civic notices — with rich images and clear details — even while the app is closed.

  1. Download the MD Weather APK (v1.0.11+) and allow install from this browser. If you already installed an older copy, update/reinstall over it.
  2. Open the app and sign in with your MD Hub account.
  3. Allow Notifications when Android asks so weather and civic alerts can reach you in the background.
  4. Keep the app signed in. It checks for new NWS / Mal civic alerts about every 15 minutes and when you reopen Weather.
  5. The icon is named MD Weather. It is separate from MD Portals, Inbox, and Step Tracker.
  6. Chrome can also install Weather as a PWA: menu → Install app or Add to Home screen.
